Hi I’m Sherman Jiang, a product leader with over 20 years of proven success at Fortune 500 companies like Visa, HSBC, and Synchrony, and honed my agile expertise in Silicon Valley’s fast-paced tech scene. I specialize in team collaboration and transformation, product discovery, product development, and go-to-market (GTM). I’m also enthusiastic about how generative AI can make product managers more productive.
To give you more details, let me share my last role at Visa as a Sr Product Director of the Buy-Now-Pay-Later products in last 5 years. I was the first member on the product team, working with designers, engineers, architect, and Agile consultants to conduct consumer research, brainstorm and design a set of APIs to address the needs of consumers, merchants, and banks. I led the team through daily standups, iterations, retrospectives to develop the MVP for a Canadian client. After the successful MVP pilot, I created the product roadmap, product positioning and GTM messaging, got a newly approved budget from the executive committee, and ramped up the product team. We rolled out the new product in North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East markets with many clients by collaborating with developer and designers, as well as managing stakeholders in matrix cross-functional teams like Sales, Marketing, IT Operations, Customer Service, Legal/Compliance etc.
I had a engineering BS degree and MBA, and had PMP and Agile Sr Scrum Master certifications from PMI. I also received multiple patents for my work in Visa. I publish product management newsletter periodically.
Currently, I am adjunct professor at in California Science and Technology University and an adviser at a AI agent network startup called masons.ai.
I am Christian, a loving husband and father who enjoys jogging, reading and traveling, bilingual, fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
